Vita

Magda Korsinsky is a Black, cis, heteroflexible visual artist and choreographer, as well as an art and dance educator. Born in Prague, she studied Fine Arts at UdK Berlin, ENSBA Paris, and AVU Prague, as well as Art Education at UdK Berlin. She completed the Seneca Intensive program in Dance Pedagogy at Dock 11 and graduated in Choreography from HZT Berlin in 2012.

Her visual art has been exhibited in numerous venues, including Galerie Dengler und Dengler (Stuttgart), Kunsthaus Dresden, Savvy Contemporary e.V. (Berlin), Haus der Geschichte Vienna, Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, and MdbK Leipzig.

Her choreographic works have been presented at ada Studio, Uferstudios, Maxim Gorki Theater, Sophiensaele, Theater Oberhausen, Theater der Jungen Welt, Schauspiel Dortmund, Theater an der Parkaue, and Ballhaus Naunynstraße.

Based in Berlin-Kreuzberg with two children, Korsinsky explores themes of identity, self-empowerment, and the dynamics of interpersonal relationships in her artistic practice. Her work often investigates the political dimensions of the private sphere and offers new perspectives on the lived experiences of marginalized communities, emphasizing processes of emancipation.

Her participatory work Macht PAUSE at Theater an der Parkaue was nominated for the IKARUS Prize in 2023.

Since 2007, she has led (socio-cultural) workshops at institutions including Screenprintworkshop at Kulturwerk des bbk berlin GmbH, TU Berlin, Detmolder School of Architecture and Interior Design, Bode Museum (lab.bode), Tanztreffen der Jugend / Berliner Festspiele, Theater Heidelberg (1st Children and Youth Congress), Akademie der Autodidakten at Ballhaus Naunynstraße, Nationaltheater Mannheim (International Conference on Participation), Cultural Education Service Stuttgart, Open Musik Stuttgart, and several Berlin schools including Robert-Blum School, Rütli School, and Nelson Mandela School.
