A workshop on the connection between visual and performing arts. In pairs or groups, the basic elements of the two artistic mediums of drawing and dance are tested for their similarities and differences. Different dance rhythms are translated into pictorial rhythms and picture compositions, which are then transferred into dance compositions. We investigate how elementary physical movements in elementary pictorial structures on a two-dimensional sheet can be transmitted and how, in turn, these drawings can be used as notations for movements in space. In addition, we test visual and dance qualities like curvy and straight, strong and soft, fast and slow.
